Proposal

After looking at the options of briefs for my A2 coursework, I decided to choose thie one:

2. A promotion package for a new film, to include a teaser trailer, together with two of the following three options:
- a website homepage for the film
- a film magazine front cover, featuring the film
- a poster for the film

The two subsidiary tasks I have chosen to do are the poster for the film and the magazine front cover. This is because I, personally, am much less skilled at using computer software for creating websites.
I will undertake alot of planning and research, including analysis existing products, technology and conventions. I will plan my time accordingly and consider things such as finance, errors and location.
Audience research is essential in finding out my target audience's preferences, therefore I will create and carry out a survey, then analyse the results.
I will create a film trailer using the conventions that I have identified and make different changes and improvements.

First ideas

Looking at the briefs, there are some that appeal to me much more than others. The two that stand out are creating a music video or a trailer. The reason for this is that I am extremely interested in music, and also the creative side behind the promotion. One disadvantage of the music video would be the lack of budget; many modern music videos cost alot of money!! Which I don't have. However, I think i could more successfully create a music video by creating an "indie" music video - many of these have cinematography which is quite basic and simple - to appear vintage. I trailer would also be good as trailers can be very conventional and therefore I should be able to follow these.
